In addition to the team recognition, seven student-athletes have been distinguished as ITA Scholar-Athletes for their individual academic accomplishments.

The Lady Toppers achieved an impressive team GPA of 3.72 this academic year, qualifying them for the ITA All-Academic Team status, which requires a minimum team GPA of 3.2. The individual scholar-athletes recognized include Sofia Blanco, Carolina Chiatti, Sunskrithi Damera, Rachel Hermanova, Mia Miranda, Elizabeth Sobieski, and Mariana Zegada, each of whom maintained a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

This recognition adds to a string of academic accolades for the Lady Toppers as they also received the CUSA Scholar Team of the Year award in Women’s Tennis, as well as the TOPSY Award for being WKU’s Women’s Scholar Team of the Year. The achievement is particularly significant as it marks the sixth consecutive season that the Lady Toppers have maintained ITA All-Academic Team status, demonstrating a sustained commitment to combining athletic and academic success.

In terms of performance on the court, the WKU Women’s Tennis team concluded the 2025 season with a 15-10 overall record, which is tied for the third-most wins in a single season in the program’s history. The team also recorded a 12-6 home record, matching the program’s record for the most home wins in a single season, showcasing their prowess in matches played at home.

Head Coach Greg Davis, who has been pivotal in fostering this culture of excellence, is tied for 23rd nationally among active head coaches in total wins, with a career record of 337-192. Under Davis, the team has achieved its best four-year stretch, totaling 62 wins. His leadership is reflected in the remarkable achievements of his players, many of whom rank highly in the program’s history. Davis has coached eight players who appear in the top 10 for combined career singles and doubles wins, with Sofia Blanco at the forefront, and Rachel Hermanova, who holds the record for career singles wins at 62.

In recent seasons, WKU Women’s Tennis has accumulated 10 CUSA weekly awards, including a program-record five awards during the 2025 season. Furthermore, Blanco and Hermanova made history as the first doubles team from WKU to achieve a national ranking, securing the No. 85 position.

The program has consistently demonstrated strong academic performance, with numerous players recognized on the CUSA All-Academic Team for multiple seasons.
