Born on October 11, 1935, in Edmonson County, Kentucky, Vincent was the son of Roscoe and Flossie Vincent, both of whom are now deceased. He was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters, highlighting a sizeable family history rooted in the region.

Throughout his professional life, Vincent made significant contributions within the energy sector. He worked for over 40 years at Louisville Gas & Electric, providing invaluable services to the community. Following his time there, he dedicated 19 years to delivering parts to industrial customers across Kentucky and Southern Indiana for OTP. Additionally, he held part-time positions at Ft. Knox with SO Construction and worked at various locations across the state for S&S, where he specialized in natural gas.

A devout member of Pine Grove Presbyterian Church, Vincent was known for his faith and commitment to God. This deep-rooted spirituality guided him through his life, impacting those around him positively. He was affectionately referred to by various names; “Bill” by coworkers, “Ashby” by family, and “Pappy” by those who cherished him. His connections with people exemplified his approachable and warm character.

Vincent is survived by his loving wife, Anna Vincent, with whom he shared 67 years of marriage. Their family includes one daughter, Cindy Raggard, who is married to Rob Raggard. The family has also been blessed with five grandchildren: Jessica Parsons (married to Jeff), Tiffany Young (married to Ryan), Nick Raggard, Justin Young (married to Alyssa), and Kyle Raggard. Furthermore, he leaves behind great-grandchildren, including Wyatt and Lily Masterson, Ashby and Thea Young, along with two brothers, Richard Vincent and Gillis Vincent. Several nieces and nephews also survive him, ensuring that his memory will continue through future generations.

Funeral Arrangements

Funeral services for William Ashby Vincent will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home’s Bowling Green Chapel. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Pine Grove Church Cemetery. Family and friends wishing to pay their respects can attend visitation scheduled from 3-7 p.m. on Thursday and from 11:30 a.m. until the service on Friday at the funeral home.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Pine Grove Presbyterian Church, reflecting Vincent’s deep commitment to his faith and community.
