Thomas Harding Duffer
Thomas Harding Duffer, a native of Hodgenville, Kentucky, died at the age of 84 in Bowling Green. The son of the late Leo Duffer and Gladys Hargan Duffer, Thomas is remembered for his dedication to family and community. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Kargle Duffer.
Surviving Thomas are his daughters, Glenn Ellen Duffer and Sarah Thomas Duffer, along with his granddaughter, Sydney Eryn Duffer. His visitation will be held on June 3, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at J. C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel. A graveside service is scheduled for June 4, 2025, at 12:00 PM EST at Red Hill Cemetery in Hodgenville.
Stephanie Ann Poteet
Stephanie Ann Poteet, born on May 8, 1975, passed away in Bowling Green at the age of 50. Stephanie faced tragedy in her early life with the passing of her father, Bobby Joe “Pedro” Davis, and her brother, B.J. Davis. She is survived by her mother, Kathy Cherry, her partner, Nick Balford, and her children: Christy Faulkner, Brittany Hunter, Casey Poteet, and Katherine Poteet. In addition, she leaves behind five grandchildren and several siblings, including Cheryl Hardin, Chastity Walden, Daniel Story, Joshua Lewis, and Heather Watt, along with stepmother Kay Watt and other relatives.
The family will hold a celebration of life on June 3, 2025, from 4 PM to 6 PM at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations for funeral expenses to the funeral home.
Mary Evelyn Sowders Hennion
Mary Evelyn Sowders Hennion, who passed away on May 29, 2025, at the age of 90, was a long-time resident of Bowling Green, having been born in Edmonson County. Mary was the daughter of the late Luther and Celia Elizabeth Slaughter Sowders. She dedicated her life to her family and faith and was an active member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles William Hennion, her son-in-law Doug Davis, and her sister Chlorine Furlong.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Teresa Jo Davis, granddaughters Melinda Jo Hogue and Jennifer Lynn Magee, and great-grandson Jordan Hogue. She also leaves behind her siblings Georgia Brooks, Beverly Jones, Jessie Elmore, and Travis “Bud” Sowders.
A graveside service for Mary is scheduled for June 1, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Renfro Cemetery.
