This achievement surpasses the previous record of 16 feet 0 ½ inches that had stood since 1965, marking a significant milestone for both Crenshaw and the WKU athletic program.

In addition to Crenshaw’s impressive performance, he finished in third place in the men’s pole vault event, contributing to the overall success of the Hilltoppers at the invitational. WKU had a strong showing, with many athletes achieving personal bests across various events.

Among the standout performances, Biz Gold celebrated a personal best in the women’s discus throw, becoming the first of eight Hilltoppers to set a new personal record at this event. Hunter Coslow also shined, recording a personal best in the shot put, where he finished within the top five competitors. Ricardo Smith made his mark by setting a new personal best in the preliminary round of the 110-hurdles, alongside teammate Blake Foster, who both qualified for the final.

Foster continued to excel, securing a fifth-place finish in the 110-hurdles event, further showcasing the depth of talent within the WKU team. Kameron Horton captured first place in the men’s 100 meter dash with a time of 10.49 seconds, while fellow competitor Zachariah Taylor joined him in the top five for the same event.

Kinley Kunkel made her presence felt in the women’s 5000 meter race, finishing fourth and achieving a new personal record in the process. The meet also saw three additional Hilltoppers—Rowen Wilkinson, Kalina Urbaniak, and Nayla Martin—achieve their best times in mid-distance races, exemplifying the overall improvement and competitiveness of the team.

A total of 10 athletes from WKU finished in the top five of their respective events, highlighting the strong performance of the team at the Jim Green Invitational. With a week off from competition scheduled, the Hilltoppers will refocus their efforts as they prepare for the upcoming 2025 Conference USA Outdoor Championships.
