Morgantown – Wanda L. Baize, a beloved member of the Morgantown community, passed away at the age of 76 on Monday, May 5, 2025. She died peacefully at the Bowling Green Nursing and Rehab facility located in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Born on December 14, 1948, in Louisville, Kentucky, Wanda was the daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy Hunt Flener. Throughout her life, she was known for her warmth and her unwavering commitment to her family and community. Wanda faced personal hardship, having been preceded in death by her two children, Michael and Marni McDaniel, as well as both of her parents.

Wanda is survived by her three children: Stephen McDaniel, who is married to Christy; Amanda Gleeson; and Brittany Baize. In addition, she leaves behind nine beloved grandchildren: Ava McDaniel, Nick McDaniel, Briannah Roland (spouse: Aaron), Avery Pendley (spouse: Valarie), Ariana Asbridge (spouse: Josh), Christian Brown (spouse: Brenda), Ian Baize (spouse: Savanna), Colin Baize, and Evan Baize, along with several great-grandchildren, including Slade Roland, Avia Pendley, Psalm Pendley, Willow Pendley, Saint Pendley, Leo Asbridge, and Maelyn Baize.

Wanda’s passing has been felt deeply by her family and friends, and they are encouraged to share their memories and condolences in her memory. A private burial is scheduled to take place at the Belmont Church Cemetery, and all services will remain private, managed under the care of the Jones Funeral Chapel in Morgantown. The family has chosen to keep the proceedings intimate, reflecting Wanda’s preference for family and close friends rather than large gatherings.

Wanda L. Baize will be remembered not only for her role as a mother and grandmother but also as a compassionate and caring individual who touched the lives of many around her. The loss of her presence is a significant one for those who were privileged to know her.
