Who’s Competing?
A total of 138 bright young minds from 45 schools throughout Kentucky will be participating. These Mathletes, as they like to be called, have already proven their mettle by qualifying through 13 NSPE-KY Chapter invitational competitions held in February 2025. It’s no small feat to make it this far!
A Little Extra Cheer for the Champions
For those who shone brightly at the chapter competitions, there’s even more to celebrate! First-place finishers were rewarded with a generous one-time $500 scholarship from the Kentucky Engineering Foundation. Beyond that, top individual performers were in for a treat too, earning a full tuition scholarship to the lovely Morehead State University!
What’s at Stake at the State Competition?
The excitement doesn’t end there! At the state level, the stakes are elevated. The top four students will earn some fantastic scholarships, including a four-year $3,000 scholarship to the esteemed University of Kentucky Pigman College of Engineering. There’s also a full tuition scholarship available to the University of Louisville, with an added perk of a five-year scholarship for those who choose to major in engineering.
But wait, there’s more! The spotlight winners (the top four students) will also qualify to compete at the 2025 RTX MATHCOUNTS National Competition, scheduled for May 11-12 in Washington D.C. How cool is that?

Students who place fifth through tenth will still walk away with a smile, as they will receive a four-year $1,500 scholarship to the University of Louisville. Talk about a win-win situation!
