Bowling Green, Kentucky – The Bowling Green Hot Rods fell to the Jersey Shore BlueClaws in a dramatic extra-inning matchup that concluded with a score of 12-10 on Sunday at Bowling Green Ballpark. The game marked the finale of a series between the two teams, and the loss leaves Bowling Green with a record of 30-26, while Jersey Shore’s record improves to 21-35.

The BlueClaws started strong, with Carson DeMartini hitting a solo home run during the top of the first inning to give them a quick lead of 1-0. Not to be outdone, the Hot Rods responded in the very next half-inning. They took the lead when Noah Myers hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the first, pushing the score to 3-1 in favor of Bowling Green.

The momentum shifted again in the third inning as Zach Arnold added another home run for Jersey Shore, reducing the deficit to 3-2. The BlueClaws continued their comeback in the fourth with a solo homer from Kehden Hettiger, tying the game at 3-3.

The top of the fifth inning became a turning point for Jersey Shore, as they scored a staggering seven runs, highlighted by a three-run home run blast from Matt Higgins. This explosive inning vaulted the BlueClaws ahead to a commanding 10-3 lead.

Bowling Green didn’t back down. They found their footing in the sixth inning, scoring two runs thanks to a solo home run by Aidan Smith followed by a double from Ryan Cermak, narrowing the score to 10-5.

In the seventh inning, the Hot Rods mounted an impressive comeback, scoring four runs to inch closer to the BlueClaws, making it 10-9.
