This marks the team’s 36th NCAA Tournament berth and highlights the legacy of retiring Coach Danny Hall. With their solid performance and competitive edge, Georgia Tech aims for a deep run in the tournament, building on their success this season.

Atlanta, Georgia – Georgia Tech baseball has secured the No. 2 seed in the Oxford Regional for the 2025 NCAA Baseball Tournament, as announced by the NCAA Baseball Committee on Monday. This marks a significant opportunity for the Yellow Jackets, who have demonstrated their competitive edge throughout the season.

With an impressive overall record of 40-17 and a conference record of 19-11 in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), Georgia Tech enters the tournament with confidence. They are set to face off against top-seeded Ole Miss (b>40-19), third-seeded Western Kentucky (b>46-12), and fourth-seeded Murray State (b>39-13) in their regional bracket. The Yellow Jackets’ opening game will take place on Friday, May 30th, at 4 p.m. ET, against Western Kentucky, and the game will be streamed live on ESPN+.

This year’s tournament marks the 36th NCAA Tournament berth for Georgia Tech baseball and highlights the team’s consistent performance, having made the tournament five times in the last six years. Historically, the Yellow Jackets boast an all-time NCAA Tournament record of 79-71 (.527) and a Regional record of 71-60 (.542). Under the leadership of head coach Danny Hall, the Yellow Jackets are making their 25th NCAA Tournament appearance, with a postseason record of 64-55 (.538).

In the current season, Georgia Tech has excelled with a 13-6 record on the road, achieving a winning percentage of .684, their best performance on the road since 2004. Georgia Tech is considered a strong contender in the Oxford Regional, starting with odds of +150 to win, compared to Ole Miss’ -105. For a potential national championship, the Yellow Jackets are beginning with odds of +4000.

This regional tournament is particularly significant as it will be the final appearance for Coach Danny Hall, who has announced his retirement after this season. Hall has made a lasting impact on the program, earning the 2025 ACC Coach of the Year honors. His tenure includes leading Georgia Tech to five Super Regional appearances and three College World Series appearances, solidifying his legacy within the program.

Oxford Regional Schedule

The schedule for the Oxford Regional is as follows:

  • Game 1: Georgia Tech (No. 2) vs. Western Kentucky (No. 3) at 4 p.m. ET on May 30
  • Game 2: Ole Miss (No. 1) vs. Murray State (No. 4) at 8 p.m. ET on May 30
  • Subsequent games will take place on May 31 and June 1, with matchups determined by earlier results.

It is noteworthy that Georgia Tech has not faced any of the teams in this regional during the current season and has a record of 0-3 against SEC teams this year. However, with strong overall performance and the experience of Coach Hall, the Yellow Jackets are poised to make a significant impact in this year’s tournament.

Georgia Tech baseball is set to bring excitement as it embarks on this journey through the NCAA Tournament, looking to add to its storied history and potentially secure a coveted national title.
