The Civil Air Patrol (CAP) will hold a Promotion and Awards Ceremony on July 29, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Bowling Green/Warren County Airport terminal building located at 1000 Woodhurst Avenue. This event will recognize the achievements of members from five squadrons in the CAP Kentucky Wing Group II. A reception will follow immediately after the ceremony.

Only a small fraction of CAP members have received this honor; over 4,000 members have earned the Gill Robb Wilson award throughout CAP’s 83-year history, with fewer than 1% of the 60,000 current members holding this achievement. Additionally, Cadet Ava Belk will be awarded the Curry Award for completing the initial level of the Cadet Program.

About the Civil Air Patrol
Founded in 1941, the Civil Air Patrol is a non-profit civilian auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force and operates a massive fleet comprising 560 aircraft and 1,550 small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS). CAP plays a vital role in emergency services, providing approximately 90% of inland search and rescue missions in the continental U.S. which saves an average of 82 lives annually.
