Indictment of a Local Man
In a separate incident, Ekombe Anderson Walukeba, a 22-year-old man from Bowling Green, has been indicted on charges of breaking into three apartments. He faces serious charges, including three counts of burglary—two classified as second-degree felonies and one as a third-degree felony—and three counts of criminal damaging or endangering, all classified as second-degree misdemeanors.
The alarming series of burglaries occurred on December 16, beginning around 1:41 a.m. on South Summit Street. The first report described a man knocking on a resident’s door, falsely claiming that “aliens with shotguns” were outside. When asked to leave, Walukeba reportedly kicked in the door, causing damage as he ventured about five feet inside while continuing to speak about the supposed aliens.
When the resident called for him to exit, Walukeba complied and left the apartment. The second victim also reported hearing yelling and the sound of someone banging on her door. Walukeba subsequently forced entry into her apartment as well. The woman locked herself in her bedroom for safety, and he eventually departed the premises.
Officers later discovered that a third apartment door had also been forcibly opened, but there was no one present inside. Both victims provided descriptions of Walukeba, which enabled police to locate him later on South Enterprise Street and Lehman Avenue. The descriptions led to a successful identification of Walukeba as the individual who had committed the break-ins, based on the testimonies of the victims.
