Upcoming Health Initiatives
But the celebration didn’t stop there! SKYCTC announced the 20th annual Blood Analysis Program, co-sponsored by the Wood County Hospital Foundation and the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce Foundation. Scheduled for April 26 from 7 to 10:30 AM, this program is an excellent opportunity for people to check on their health.
The screening covers essential health indicators, including blood sugar levels, blood counts, kidney function, electrolytes, liver function, and lipid profiles. It’s a great way to keep tabs on your health!
Participating is quite affordable with a cost of $50 for Bowling Green Chamber investors and $60 for non-investors. Moreover, for an additional $25 each, participants can add a PSA prostate cancer screening or a TSH-thyroid test to the package. Test results will be securely provided through a portal at Wood County Hospital or sent directly to participants’ physicians, ensuring convenience and privacy.
Remember, appointments are required for the Blood Analysis Program, so it’s best to register early! You can do this online or via phone, but make sure not to miss the registration deadline of April 11.
Support your Community
Proceeds from the Blood Analysis Program will benefit both the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce Foundation and the Wood County Hospital Foundation Scholarship Funds. And guess what? There are volunteer opportunities available for chamber investors willing to lend a hand on the event day. It’s a great way to get involved and support a worthy cause!
A Celebration of Nursing
In another exciting development, SKYCTC will honor 60 RN students from the Bowling Green Campus during their annual nursing pinning ceremony. Slated for December 11 at the Cave Area Conference Center, this ceremony marks the completion of their associate degrees in nursing. It’s a proud moment for these students as they step into a workforce that is more eager than ever for qualified nurses.
Dr. Angie Harlan, Dean of Allied Health and Nursing at SKYCTC, praised the students for their resilience, especially during these challenging times. The nursing ceremony not only celebrates individual achievements but also emphasizes the crucial role that nurses play in the healthcare system.
As Bowling Green gears up for these commendable events, it’s clear that the spirit of community and dedication to health and education remain strong. With upcoming initiatives and the celebration of our future healthcare professionals, the city continues to shine as a beacon of hope and support in the allied health fields.
