Jewell Marie Logan, a 64-year-old resident of Bowling Green, passed away on April 29, 2025, while receiving care at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. Logan was well-known for her longstanding involvement in the community and her commitment to her family.
Logan was born in Edmonson County and graduated from Edmonson County High School in 1979. She later pursued higher education, earning an associate degree from Western Kentucky University. Following her graduation, Logan worked as a QA operator for Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, contributing to the local economy and workforce.
A dedicated member of Fairview United Baptist Church, Logan was known for her active participation in various community initiatives. Her commitment to her church and the wider community exemplified her values of service and compassion.
Jewell Marie Logan was the daughter of the late Clell Logan and Leola Aleze Jaggers Logan. She was preceded in death by her son Craig Logan and her brother David Logan. She is survived by her husband, David Melton, and her two other sons, Craig Cherry and Michael Melton, both of whom reside in Bowling Green. She also leaves behind two beloved grandchildren, Katilyn Melton and Madison Melton.
Her extended family includes a sister-in-law, Tammy Johnson, who is married to Phillip Johnson and hails from Cave City. Additionally, her niece, Mandy Gooden, resides in Indianapolis, and her nephew, Travis Logan, is settled in Greenwood, IN.
A celebration of life service is scheduled for Saturday at 12:00 PM at Gravil Funeral Home, providing family and friends the opportunity to come together and honor her memory. The visitation for loved ones will begin earlier that day at 10:00 AM.
Logan’s life was marked by a strong sense of community involvement and deep familial love. She will be remembered for her contributions to both her family and the Bowling Green community.
