She also leaves behind her brother, Ken Wininger, residing in Glasgow, along with two nephews, Steven and Andy Wininger, a niece named Leslie Manion, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Gloria was a passionate educator with a lifelong dedication to teaching and community service. She graduated from Glasgow High School in 1973 before furthering her education at Western Kentucky University, where she earned both a Bachelor of Science degree in Textiles and Clothing in 1977 and a Master of Science degree in the same field in 1979. Her career included serving as a Product Development Coordinator at Fruit of the Loom, Inc., and working at WKU in the Office of Alumni Affairs.

For nearly two decades, Gloria taught art at Bowling Green Christian Academy and held adjunct professor positions at WKU in the Department of Art and the Department of Applied Human Services. Her contributions to art education earned her multiple accolades, including the Ky Art Education Association Private School Art Teacher of the Year in 2010 and Higher Ed Art Teacher of the Year in 2022.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 26, from 4-8 PM and on Wednesday, August 27, from 10 AM until the start of the service. After the funeral, she will be laid to rest at Bowling Green Gardens Cemetery, which is directly behind the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Children’s Ministry at Living Hope Baptist Church and to Hospice of Southern Kentucky.
