Bowling Green, KY – The Southern Kentucky Fair is set to return for its 2025 edition from July 21 to July 26 at the SOKY Fairgrounds. This year’s fair promises a variety of attractions, including thrill rides, delicious fair food, live entertainment, demolition derbies, a figure-eight race, and track events that will kick off each evening at 7:30 p.m. An exciting new horse show will also debut on Tuesday during the fair.

Gates will open each evening at 6 p.m., allowing attendees plenty of time to explore the fairgrounds. Admission pricing is set at $15 from Monday to Wednesday and $20 from Thursday to Saturday. Children who are under 36 inches tall can enter for free. All ticket purchases allow access to carnival rides, live stages, and track events.

In addition to entertainment, all proceeds from the fair will be directed towards various charitable projects designed to support the youth of South Central Kentucky. The Southern Kentucky Fair is organized by the Bowling Green/Warren County Jaycees and the SOKY Fair Board, having offered family-friendly fun for more than 70 years.

New Clear Bag Policy Enhances Safety

This year, the fair will implement a strict Clear Bag Policy to promote public safety and facilitate quicker entry into the fairgrounds. Attendees are encouraged to bring only approved bags, which include:

  • Clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags measuring up to 12” x 6” x 12”
  • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags
  • Small clutch bags no larger than 4.5” x 6.5”
  • Clear fanny packs or backpacks (up to 12” x 6” x 12”)
  • Medically necessary items and diaper bags, subject to inspection

Non-approved bags include any backpacks, purses, or totes that are not clear or exceed the size limits, tinted or printed plastic bags, mesh bags, or oversized tote bags. All bags and personal items will undergo inspection at entry points. Guests with clear bags will enjoy expedited entry, while those with non-clear bags may face additional screening.

Entertainment and Activities

The fair will feature a special Faith and Family Night, which includes live music from The Relay Worship Group and meet-and-greet opportunities with popular characters. Additionally, a pageant competition for various titles will occur on July 19, just two days before the official opening of the fair.

Attendees can expect an array of food options, with food trucks and vendors covering a spectrum of tastes. This year’s carnival, managed by Miller Spectacular Shows, a family-owned company, will feature an increased number of rides thanks to improvements made at the fairgrounds.

Prohibited Items and Safety Guidelines

Fair organizers have established a list of prohibited items to ensure a safe environment for attendees. These include weapons, outside food or drinks (except for sealed water bottles), and any gang-related clothing or accessories. This focus on safety is designed to create a welcoming atmosphere for families and individuals visiting the event.
