Meanwhile, Master Police Officer Dale Barbiea, Badge Number 211, passed away peacefully at his residence after a long battle with cancer. He served with distinction in the Bowling Green City Police Department from January 2008 until his passing on June 14, 2025. Over the years, Barbiea operated in various roles, including Patrol Officer and K9 Officer, and was recognized as the longest-serving Crisis Negotiator in the department’s history. His efforts earned him the title of Kentucky CIT Officer of the Year, showcasing his commitment to assisting individuals in crisis situations.

A proud native of Louisville, Dale Barbiea had professional experience as a police officer in Jackson, Tennessee, prior to joining the Bowling Green City Police Department. His dedication to public service extended beyond policing; he was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP).
