Bowling Green, KY – Jack Jordan Phelps, a resident of Bowling Green, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, at The Medical Center in Bowling Green. He was 80 years old.
Born on March 20, 1945, in Louisville, Kentucky, Jack was the son of the late Mary (Winfrey) Phelps and Jack J. Phelps. He is survived by his wife, Paula (Goodin) Phelps, as well as a sister, Winfrey Bates (Brooks), of Jamestown, Kentucky, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Jack Phelps was an active member of the Jamestown First United Methodist Church and a proud veteran of the United States Marines, having served his country honorably. Throughout his life, he dedicated himself to the profession of journalism, where he made significant contributions to the field.
Funeral services for Jack Phelps are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 28, at Jamestown First United Methodist Church. The service will be officiated by Bro. Barry Bradshaw and Bro. Dennis Kiser. Family and friends will have the opportunity to pay their respects during public visitation, which will take place on Friday, June 27, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again on Saturday, June 28, starting from 8:00 AM until the beginning of the service.
Following the service, Jack Phelps will be laid to rest in the Rexroat Cemetery located in Jamestown, Kentucky. As a tribute to his military service, he will receive full military honors from the Bowling Green Marines honor squad at the burial.
